[it's a thrill, when Sousuke looks forward. it never used to be something Rin worried so much about, and he doesn't quite even realise he feels better until after it's happened]
[He's not exactly resisting it but he can't trust in his future the way he used to. Still, Rin's the only one who can even convince him to turn his eyes forward, even for just a second.
[and for other things, too; a sense of belonging, a sense of brotherhood, a sense of the future. it's ironic, that Sousuke thinks it's only Rin whose life is so very connected to what swimming means, and who he swims with]
