I'm not going to pretend I can understand exactly what that is like... but I can understand now why you feel the way you do with Gou.

Maybe -- practice will help? If we're always sneaking around, it makes it seem like it's a bad secret that we're keeping from her. You heard her when she said she was happy for you when you told her you like guys, so I don't think she'll feel uncomfortable seeing us kiss or hold hands sometimes. --working with Gou, I've learnt that she's very understanding.

I don't think standing still is how people stay happy.

[makoto's smile grows now, because he likes what rin says--the conclusions that rin makes on his own. it definitely feels that perhaps, now, this is something they can plan towards and, while uncertain, they can approach it with some level-headed understanding that it might not be the easiest change at the start.]

It's not wrong to be protective of Gou, but I really believe that in time you two will grow closer. If you're ever afraid of something, you need to try telling her about it. She won't love you any less.

We could do grocery shopping together, and cook together. Ah, hm... spring cleaning together... that sort of thing...

[and like the pull of the moon on the tide, Rin is swaying gently forward, taking a light hold of Makoto's shirt. he loves being grounded by Makoto, with his calm voice and silly smile and, all jokes aside, always-patient understanding. he loves being supported and advised on how to grow and change alongside his phenomenal sister, whose already made her mind up about this move, anyway]

[Rin presses a gentle kiss to Makoto's jaw, soaking up his space more than the touch itself, really, feeling something in his stomach unclench]

[mumbled, though with honesty]

I love you, even if you're apparently just using me and my sister as company for chores you don't wanna do. -- Let's move in together.

[and a few ticklish-inducing kisses are feathered at Makoto's neck]

[makoto giggles, unable to contain himself, especially with rin pressing feather-light kisses to his neck and closing the distance between them; making decisions so serious at the supermarket, and still being able to joke about it, with a quiet reassurance that they'll work it through together--not just as a couple, but also rin and gou, as a family.]

I can't believe we've made this decision at the store...

[he plants his hand firmly onto rin's side, pulling away a bit, if only out of embarrassment at the public display of affection (deviants...)]

I strategically offered myself as someone she could talk to if she ever thought she would like to date someone! That way I'll know...!

[with a huff, Rin drops his hands from Makoto's shirt, fingers instantly seeking Makoto's wrist. strategically, his ass -- more like strategically for Makoto, so he could bob and weave his way around Matsuoka wrath squared]

Alright. -- Hey, are you excited?

[his fingers lace with Makoto's, and a firmness in Rin's grip betrays his own excitement; Makoto can't bat him away for long, with the way he tries to reel Makoto in so their shoulders bump, baskets on opposite sides]

[makoto answers without hesitation, accepting his fate of walking around the store with a matsuoka at hand. not that he would complain--not generally, anyway.]

[as things stand, makoto shows his excitement in very subtle mannerisms; the constant smile on his face, humming cheerfully in bouts of silence, bouncing on his feet when they come to a stop to check out some items on the shelves.]

I'm so excited I think I'll tell Supun before we tell anyone else. I hope you don't mind.

Careful how you break it to her, she might be pissed she has to leave all her comfy spots.

[that's a nice prospect. for now, an even nicer prospect (as far as makoto is concerned) is releasing his hold on rin's shoulders and bringing his hand down and inside one of rin's backpockets.]

[a quiet grumble, because he's fully aware that he tends to be much more bark than bite, when it comes to Gou; and the idea that he could in any way force his rules over her decisive personality is laughable]

[but all his huffing aside, Rin leans against his boyfriend, enjoying the reassuring closeness (even the presumptuous PDA ass cup). it's nice to feel the way the way Makoto makes him feel -- that is to say, like somebody's boyfriend, special and loved]

Does it have to be board games only? Plenty of card games are fun too...

[and off they go to finish their -- collective -- shopping, a team rather than two wandering idiots (and wasn't that the heartening thing, about relationships?)]
